It rains

I have missed rain, find it relaxing, even also to be outside while it rains. But for Romans its like its some kind of dangerous stuff that comes down to torment them, and each drop should be avoided for every cost. But as they say "One man's trash is another man's treasure" or "One man's garbage is another man's gold". I leave it to the reader to decide which of these is the best match for this blog.

Good evening.

UPDATE:

I have to say that without any notice the rain gained in strength during the night, to levels that our water saving shover couldn't muster. And there was thunder... it was so cool.

But may be I understand the respect and fear a tiny bit, if this is the level it reaches :D.

Getting back to work sucks

Don't get me wrong, I like my work, my colleagues, my new city. But.... going from having problems like, should we go to Chiaia di Luna, which has a nice sandy beach, but packed with people or to the Fontone, which have rocks, and only few people. To being squeezed by an angry nun, a hungover Romanian and a skinny Italian woman all looking like they wanted to use me as a rug to step on, in the metro, cannot not be anything but a bit hard. The public transportation got back in gear, and the time when you have to really push people just to get into the metro has arrived again. But it brought me to work.

When I arrived at work, the problem I left for holiday, wasn't solved by it self. And my project manager had some very good arguments about what I should do now. So back to the normal life, even the weather sympathizes in being gray, with only 27 degrees, but so humid, that it is impossible to tell whether the washed close is wet or just humid.

Have a nice monday.

August

The thing is that august in Italy is hell, especially for tourists, there are several reasons for this. The primary one is the heat, unless you are born in a sauna or have sick enjoyments like turning on a hairdryer next to you bed during the nights its not a good idea to come to this beautiful country, because its an oven. Then you think you are clever if you get a place with air condition, but to sleep in a air conditioned room, usually makes you hurt all over because of the draft and gives you a cold.

This is one of the reasons why Italians all go on holiday in august, and leave this place. This happens to such an extend that the pharmacies, newspaper stands and most other places (this fellow citizen of Rome, has taken pictures (link) ) which are not strictly depended on the hordes of tourists which pilgrim to place - poor suffering people. Rome is nice in august, and lots of things happens, and sometimes the temperature even drops below 30, but its seldom, and then it only happens during the nights. The good thing about Rome this month is that its very easy to find parking spots and the public transportation is almost empty.

Anyway now everything is finished Roma is getting back to normal, and I am enjoying the last day of roomy subways, because on Monday the schools start again, and then the traffic goes crazy, like it always is.

But I am enjoying my last lunch break before one week of holiday, so for my sake the traffic can go basuca as much as it wants, cause I will be lying on a beach on a small island, and do nothing, then it will hopefully have sorted it all out before next Monday, when I have to start work again. I hope put I doubt it...

Have a nice weekend, and a good holiday to me.
