Everybody talks about Denmark these days

Here in Italy, there has been allot of protests against Denmark, in mails being send around and on blogs (link), showing pictures of the terrible things that young people in Denmark are during.

Pictures are shown (with warnings about not scrolling down if there is children present) like the following. Which proofs the cruelty of the youth in Denmark.



That fact is that it is not Denmark but Færøerne, who does this massacre, however cruel it is, its not something that Denmark can do anything about, because animal protection is under the local state. The Danish minister of justice, have asked the local government to provide a statement (back in 2000), which can be seen here (link). Their response have been that there has been made allot of improvements in the killing and that it is approved by the international whaling commission.

I think its cruel and horrific the slaughter of these poor pilot whale (and not dolphins). And it should stop. But I think that most people who send emails around it, should also wonder how their steak, chicken or what ever is for dinner, has grown up, and how it has been slaughtered.
